I Love My Fans Even More!

BUILDING PASSION has been up on Fictionwise only nine days, and already it is the #1 book on Awe-Struck's bestsellers list. It's #27, up from #28 on Fictionwise's Romance bestseller's list.

Yesterday, I was featured on RomanceExcerptsOnly Yahoo list and it was wonderful to get such a nice response from the romance readers there as they read the excerpts I led them to -- not just for Building Passion, but for THE HARDEST STEP, FUNNY BUSINESS and DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. I had nice little notes from a few people who saw books they thought they might like to read.

I gave away a file of BUILDING PASSION in a drawing, and the winner seemed very pleased.

The neat thing is that ONCE AGAIN A PRINCESS, which is published by Hard Shell Word Factory and that I also sent readers to, came way up on Hard Shell's list today. Okay, so I know there are times that it doesn't take much. But it is important to me.

I've ordered fifty print copies of BUILDING PASSION to sell to my friends who collect my books. I can give them a pretty good price on them -- autographed and with a piece of quilting fabric in them. This time I might put the recipe for my husband's pasta salad in there, too!

BUILDING PASSION has been available since June 23 at Awe-Struck E-Book but such is the state of electronic publishing that the real debut of a book is when it comes up on Fictionwise, right?

Well, I'd been watching for it every day, knowing that this is vacation time --the Fourth of July was in there, if you recall. Yesterday I checked in the morning -- nothing. Then I checked in the afternoon -- I was not obsessing -- and there it was! BUILDING PASSION with its lovely cover! So I checked to see where it was on the Awe-Struck sort of Fictionwise and it was # 5! That meant someone had bought a copy. KD Struck, the co-owner of Awe-Struck confirmed it. That made my day! Someone bought my book the day it came out. Now, that's a fan.

But I scrolled lower and found that DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH was # 10, up from # 16. Now, I'd had correspondence from a friend a few days before and she said she'd just loaded DIAMOND onto her handheld reader. Well, that might account for # 16, but it would take another sale to get up to # 10.

Granted, when an author has a book out, the publicity often drags old releases back up the list. That's an advantage of electronic publishing -- the backlist is still available, unless the author has decided to pull an older title for some reason.
